Joe Biden Wins the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election

WASHINGTON (AGN.News) – On November 3, 2020 America went to the polls for a historic presidential election. Many millions mailed in their ballots while others opted to go to the local polling station and do in-person voting.
Once the polls closed the real work of counting the votes went into hyper-drive. Challenges and issues with the mail-in ballots began to surface. Through it all over 74,000,000 (million) votes were cast for democratic nominee (the most votes ever cast for any candidate for the presidency) Joe Biden and over 70,000,000 million votes were cast for the republican candidate and current president, Donald J, Trump.
Joe Biden wins the 2020 historic presidential election according to AP to become the 46th President of the United States.
To win the presidency requires 270 electoral votes of the 538 total in the Electoral College. On Saturday, November 7. 2020, Joe Biden crossed the 270-vote threshold in the Electoral College after the AP News (Associated Press) called Pennsylvania (20 votes) for him.
Joe Biden was also able to capture Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona. As of Saturday, November 7th, Joe Biden has 290 of the 538 electoral votes and Donald J. Trump has 214 electoral votes. Joe Biden wins!
His running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., became the first Black woman and first Asian American elected vice president in U.S. history.
“I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris,” Biden said in a statement.
A statement from the President-Elect also stated, “With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation,” the president-elect continued. “It’s time for America to unite. And to heal.”
He added: “We are the United States of America. And there’s nothing we can’t do, if we do it together.”
World leaders from Canada, England, Germany and many more countries sent warm congratulatory messages to president-elect Joe Biden and vice-president-elect Kamala Harris on their historic win in the 2020 presidential election.
From Wilmington, Delaware to New York City to Los Angeles and many points in between, crowds of well-wishers celebrated into the late night after President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris delivered their acceptance speeches in Wilmington on Saturday night.
