Hyperadad Police Shoots Dead Four Gang Rape Suspects

HYPERADAD, INDIA – Indian police investigating the gang rape and murder of a 27-year-old veterinarian, shot dead all four suspects during an altercation… police sources said. She left home for an appointment, then called her family and said she had a flat tire on her motor-scooter.
She also stated a truck driver offered to help her. Police said two truck drivers and two helpers then abducted her then gang raped her, asphyxiated her, and set her on fire in an apparent effort to cover up the crime. The four were arrested and taken to the scene of the alleged crime.
While investigating the crime scene the four men tried to over-power the police and take their guns, according to police. During the struggle the four were shot dead and two policemen were injured.
As news of the deaths spread, people began to celebrate what some called, “a just end”. Many having been angered about crimes against women, took to the streets in protest. Previously, there were protests in many cities after this latest crime, lead by women, demanding justice for the young woman and punishment for the perpetrators. The family of the young veterinarian said that justice was served.
While some may dispute how the deaths occurred, there was little sympathy for the alleged rapists and murderers. Locals were glad this case came to “a just end”.
As the word spread about the death of the suspects, a large crowd arrived at the scene and threw flowers at police vehicles, shouting their continued support for the police in a celebratory way.
Many Indians on Twitter applauded the killings on Friday, taking to Twitter to support the police including Indian badminton star and former world No. 1 Saina Nehwal, who wrote… “Great work #hyderabadpolice ..we salute u,”.
