COVID-19 Pandemic in India Sets a New Global Record of 401,993 Infections in One Day

New Delhi – India just reported a global record of 401,993 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This is an historic number since this is the first time in this pandemic that a country has reported more than 400,00 cases in one day.
The India total of nationwide infections have exceeded 19,000,000 (million). This is also a global record for one country. There were 3,523 deaths officially recorded in the past 24 hours.
Vaccinations are now available for all adults. Available vaccinations for the population are reportedly in short supply. There is a critical shortage of medical oxygen and hospital beds.
Restrictions on travel from India are now increasing as countries try to mitigate infection rates in their respective countries. The United States, Australia and many others are now implementing travel restrictions on everyone coming from India.
