2021 COVID-19 Deaths and Hospitalization in Tanzania Rising

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA – Reports indicates COVID-19 continues its global pandemic infections and resulting loss of life in cities around the world including Tanzania.
Reports out of Tanzania: Tanzanian President John Magufuli was admitted into Kenya’s Nairobi Hospital several days ago after being infected with COVID-19. No COVID-19 deaths or infection reports have come from Tanzania since May 2020.
The President has consistently downplayed the seriousness of COVID-19 in person and in the media. It has been reported the the President has never worn a mask and advised others to do the same.
The virus is running through the population. Now, it’s reported that Tanzania’s Finance Minister Philip Mpango was also being treated for COVID-19 at the same hospital.
The General Secretary of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference, Father Charles Kitima said over 60 nuns and over 25 priests plus two elders have died from COVID-19 between December and February.
In Tanzania other prominent individuals have died including Chief Secretary Amb John Kijazi, Zanzibar First Vice President Seif Sharif Hamad, Bank of Tanzania (BoT) Governor Prof Benno Ndulu and former Finance and Planning permanent secretary Dr Servacius Likwelile.

John Magufuli: Tanzania’s president dies aged 61 after reports he had COVID-19.
On March 17, 2021 Tanzania’s President John Magufuli, a former the 61-year-old chemistry and math teacher who became president in October 2015, died from heart complications. the vice-president has announced.
“It is with deep regret that I inform you that today… we lost our brave leader, the president of the Republic of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli,” Vice-President Hassan said.
Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan become the country’s first female president.
COVID-19 PREVENTION
Everyone is being urged by local Tanzania Health professionals and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC.gov) to get vaccinated, wear masks, practice social distancing, and wash hands as a way to cut down on the transmission rate.
