WASHINGTON (AGN.News) -The 2024 United States Presidential and general elections are on Tuesday, November 5th. If you are an eligible voter, you can let your voice be heard loud and clear by voting.
Every community in the country will cast their vote for the candidate of their choice. It’s your right to vote! The right to vote is guaranteed under laws well established and confirmed in the 15th Amendment of the United States Constitution.
2024 Local, State, and Federal Elections
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and many of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested.
Also, many state and territorial gubernatorial elections, as well as numerous other state and local elections, will be contested.
Are you qualified to vote?
After the 2020 census many states exercised their right to participate in congressional redistricting due to shifting populations or an increase in population as reflected in the census.
There have been many changes in state-level and territorial election laws. Therefore, everyone is urged to check their status and/or qualifications to vote and to make sure you are eligible to vote in 2024. Contact your local election office for more information.
For example, some states require all voters to register to vote for every general election. Some states require everyone who wants to vote-by-mail to register again for the 2024 election. Some states have restricted vote-by-mail. Drop box locations may or may not be available.
The only way to make sure you’re eligible to vote in the 2024 election and confirm where to go to cast your vote is to contact your local election office. Also, you may go to VOTE.gov for more information.
Reasons why you should vote
The results of this election will impact United States Congress, state houses, local mayors, ballot initiatives, and bond issues. This will be the first election since the mid-terms in 2022 in most of the country. Many U.S. states will have candidates who will seek local elected offices.
Gubernatorial elections, Attorney General elections, Secretary of State elections, and State Treasurer elections, state judicial elections and more in many states will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Let your voice be heard by voting!
Additionally, local county and city elections will have women and men who will be seeking elected office. You will have an opportunity to select the candidate of your choice for a particular office this November and the 2024 General Election.
