TALLAHASSEE (AGN.News) – Today, another HBCU received a donation that will help open doors to many new people who will have an opportunity to advance their careers in this 21st century.
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) have been providing educational opportunities all across the United States for over 180 years. Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) has been a beacon of hope for students since 1887. FAMU is a public historically Black land-grant university in Tallahassee, Florida.
HBCUs have been a leader in the United States
In recognition of the leadership that Spelman College in Atlanta has provided to women as a liberal arts college since 1881, Mackenzie Scott donated $100 million dollars to help provide resources to future generations back in January 2024.
Since 1887, FAMU has been an award-winning institution in the State University System of Florida. It provides baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees to its many students.
In recognition of its programs and the need to continue to provide more resources for future generations, contributors continue to support FAMU programs and students.
