WASHINGTON (AGN.News) – The Alphabet Company had a very humble beginning. To become a global media company in e-commerce, education, and entertainment required a lot of time and effort from all involved. Alphabet created a high bar to measure its progress from a vision to reality.
The Alphabet Company began with an idea, an idea that grew into action. To change the world required active participation in the development of a skill-base workforce. Work that is in the best interest of the communities which make up the most advanced and technology-driven nation in the world. Some of our detractors scuffed at the idea that ordinary people could become leaders.
Ordinary people CAN become leaders
History has proven that the work of building a community of cities and neighborhoods all begins with an idea. The Founding Fathers of the United States, all 152 plus, were ordinary citizens from various backgrounds. Some were writers, others were storekeepers, some were farmers, some were tradesman, while others were in government service.
Some among them were as young as 25 and others were as old as 55 in 1776 when they signed the Declaration of Independence establishing what would become a new nation on the world scene.
They proved that someone could become a part of something bigger than themselves. Their effort showed the value of creating something much bigger than they could ever imagine. As the world laughed at them, they kept building a great nation, now called the United States.
This was not just an idea it was a movement. This movement was not an easy-one-and-done process. It was a movement that would be opposed by the power of Great Britain, their home country and others within the colonies.
For eight long years (1775-1783) the Founders and associates had to fight for their right to be independent from foreign domination. The English sent their most admired General, Charles Edward Cornwallis V, 1st Marquess Cornwallis (31 December 1738 – 5 October 1805) to suppress the would-be nation builders. The colonists won the fight.
Cornwallis surrendered his army in 1781 to a combined American and French force at the siege of Yorktown. This Cambridge educated General would go on to spend many more years in the service of his homeland. He went on to serve in the British military from 1757 until his death in 1805.
Likewise, many of the Founders would continue in the service of their newly founded nation, the United States, for many more years. Some would become presidents like General George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison who is called “The Father of the Constitution”.
Others like Benjamin Franklin whose service to the country is too numerous to count, and Alexander Hamilton who was the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.
The humble beginning of The Alphabet Company
Like many companies, The Alphabet Company had a very humble beginning in a modest home in the southeast United States. In the summer of 1982, a group of people born into a family of farmers, were having a family gathering where home cooking was on the menu.
Among this group were individuals with a host of names that had every single letter of the alphabets as the first letter of the names. Like Ann, Bobby, Cynthia, David, Edward, and so on.
Then there were others who were what was often called ‘company’ because they were not related by blood but by friendship. The host announced, “This looks like The Alphabet Company” to a laughing audience.
That announcement in 1982 led to the creation of The Alphabet Company that we’re writing about today. In early 1998, it was an unofficial service company managing some of the early business entities formed in 1983. Part of it would later be called Alphabetical Local Ads in December 1998. Later it would simply be called “ALPHABET”.
By 2002, it would have its own global media production company streaming live in 34 countries around the world. This “ALPHABET” would grow into a branded program that would represent all of the entities called “Alphabet Domains” in 2007. That’s the ‘AD’ you see in every program. Since it had so many domain names for promotions, it came to be called “The Alphabet Company” in 2009.
In 2010, the company realized the world needed an application on its phones that was easy to use and easy on the eyes called a mobile website or all-mobile, mobile-only phone application.
As R&D accelerated into more in-depth research, development, and transition into a mobile-only app program, The Alphabet Company increased its connection to going all-mobile with its newly completed online platform.
In 2010, there was no mobile website, so we had to create one, one that works. Research and Development connected us with resources that made it possible to have an all-mobile program which would auto-adjust to fit any mobile platform from phones to tablets. The program was so loved that it brought a lot of commendation from those who previously doubted that it could ever become a reality.
The Alphabet Company had years of opposition.
No one had thought of naming their business Alphabet Domains, at least publicly. Once we branded our program Alphabet Domains, it drew a lot of attention. ‘ALPHABET’ described every platform and all of the many internet properties you see online today.
What escaped many people was the use of ‘ALPHABET’ was not just about domains it was used to describe many of our programs including our local ads program, Alphabet Local Ads and Alphabet Local Media. As the platform grew it would encompass 193 countries and over 50,000 cities and local communities.
As many found out, ‘ALPHABET’ uses the signature colors of GOLD over BLACK with the word ‘ALPHABET’ at the top of many programs. Those color choices are credited to one of our early ‘cheerleaders’ who never doubted us. She was the mother of one of the developers.
A 25-year opposition campaign
The opposition was almost immediate in 1998 when word spread that Alphabetical Local Ads had printed a directory of local businesses at no cost. It was not because of the name only. It was because of the community and online growth. As the company grew so did the opposition from those who had their own reasons.
After twenty-five years of challenges, The Alphabet Company name is still here and staying strong in the face of a storm of opposition by some who wanted the name for themselves so much they were willing to spend many years trying to acquire it for themselves (see the logo above).
Just as opposition raised its head, allies worked quietly behind the scenes to identify those responsible. Just as the Founders knew opposition would be constantly present, so The Alphabet Company knew not everyone would support the goals and aspirations of the Alphabet Founding Family, the behind its creation and growth.
Finally, by 2023, the wave of opposition began to subside. Today, we are happy to announce the official end to the torrent of opposition, and we invite those formally opposed to the vision of the Founders of The Alphabet Company to join us in our mission to build the Local Domestic product of one community at a time all across this great nation with our Novelnomics program.
The humble beginning of The Alphabet Company
The Alphabet Company has had many struggles in order to become a global media company in e-commerce, education, and entertainment. In 2025, The Alphabet Company hopes to see its support for small business grow and the Local Domestic Product grow.
Part of the company is called Alphabet Local Ads. This division will help small businesses find ways to increase revenue through its Novelnomics.com program. An additional program will provide STEM classes for local communities. This program is part of the Alphabet Institute.
The acronym for The Alphabet Company
The word ‘ALPHABET’ is actually an acronym for Alphabet Leadership Program to Help Advance Business Education and Technology in local communities.
In the spirit of our Founding Fathers, many of whom came from humble beginnings, became role models for us today as we strive to keep moving forward. Eventually, opposition elements will move on looking for new victims.
The Alphabet Company and its portfolio of affiliates will continue to work hard to enter the local media, e-commerce, education, and entertainment space as we help the Local Domestic product. This year The Alphabet Company will begin to launch its various entities with support of local communities.
